Lines For Obama (11)

  • Governor Romney’s view is that we should spend money less on emergency services, that emergency services are a luxury we cannot afford. That emergency services should be devolved to the States for the moment, and then after that be managed by the private sector, and profits made from them by wily CEOs.

This is not a rumour, he has said these things while seeking his party’s nomination. His view is that we should elect him for a raft of similar policies, policies that ask us to spend less and less on what we need, like health care, like cleaning up after disasters, like hunting down terrorist leaders, and give the money we thereby save to billionaires. If you believe this boyish nonsense, vote for him. If he has changed his mind, he should say in what regard.

    I invite him to reply.

    1. Indeed; and those words are coming back to haunt him now.

It’s tough trying to be ideologically pure.

    2. No reply from Governor Romney yet, Boom Boom?

    3. Plenty of other things have happened that should have belled the cat with Romney and the red-staters have remained obdurate.
Wait till after votes are counted and the voluptuous one has warbled.

    4. At the risk of repetition :

Labor did not hold the ten or more Royal Commissions it should have held into the Howard Government :

      1. Children Overboard

      2. AWB scandal

      3. Australian Military Court debacle

      4. WMD Iraq war debacle

      5. Reith and the Waterfront

      6. Workchoices

      7. Chaplaincy Program

      8. State Aid to private schools

      9. The ASX Singapore Debacle

      10. The disgraceful waste of the mining boom mark 1

      11. Abbott’s performance as ‘Health’ Minister.

That will do to go on with; I am sure there are others.

      All good Royal Commission stuff.

Now, what was the question again?

You forgot:-taking us to war on a pack of lies;the wrongful pursuit of Hicks, Habib;the Liberal’s investigation into Workchoices and Bracket creep that we paid millions for, but would not release to the public. I am amazed that Labor did not expose The Howard dark Years on taking govt. Even John Hewson displayed his amazement on Lateline. What does Labor do instead? Sleep with the enemy and give cushy jobs to Liberal ex-Howard stooges- another slap in the face to Labor supporters- Peter Wreith (ugh!!), Amanda Vanstone, Bruce Baird, Richard Alston, Robert Hill, Richardson all got or kept their jobs. Then Rudd gives jobs to Tim Fischer, Brendan Nelson, Peter Costello (!) and Downer(of all people!) and John Fahey. Many of these people were already on extravagant taxpayer-funded pensions but what did Rudd do? He leaves them with their noses in the trough. On taking govt., Rudd said he would recall the Howard stooges that were given juicy overseas appointments and give the jobs to career diplomats-he did not do this. Rudd rewarded and slept with the enemy! Could you imagine Howard or Abbott doing this? What fool gave this advice? Just another example of Labor political naievty. Already Abbott has announced an inquiry into the present “slush fund debate” on taking government. How hopeless Labor is always slow to use what they can against the Libs. But not them. Brilliant at negative politics.

Rudd was a total disgrace as PM. Short memories bedevil his admirers.

      I forgot to add in

      12. The deliberate undermining and emasculation of the ABC

      13. The failure to end tax rorts favouring the major donors to the Coalition.

It is not too late for some of these inquiries; Abbott wouldn’t know way to turn he’d be “assisting police with their inquiries” every week until 2015.
