The Henderson Wars (22): Gerard, The Last Cold Warrior, AWOL

There is no Gerard Henderson column in the smh this morning and the curtain may be coming down on his brilliant career.

Perhaps it was the insight that the DLP ‘bowed out of politics’ in the 1970s though they have a Senator today. Perhaps it was the difficulty his employers had in finding any prediction of his in forty years that was right. Perhaps it was his refusal to deny that he was CIA.

I am at any rate available to fill his column for half his pitiable diminished wage.

I wait the editor’s call with confidence.

  1. Gerard’s column is printed on page 9 of my smh today and also printed here:
    http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/modern-hostility-to-mining-poses-some-worrying-questions-20120604-1zs1h.html

His mad grumblings are still very much alive.

  2. Verily Nostradamus

Page 9 Bob. Perhaps you mistakenly read the Green Left Daily.

Good column actually. Highlighting the hypocrisy of the Govt’s criticism of mining, and the inherent racism in the criticism of the foreign worker deal.

For the record 33 unemployed people have taken up the federal relocation program for workers to move West for the boom. You can lead a horse to water but …

  3. The DLP also have the Mayor of Moreland! (the said senator’s brother)
