The Unsolved Case Of The Faceless Woman Who Did Not Come To Dinner Or To Bed

We are seeing now a refusal of Pyne, Abbott, Kate McClymont and the usual suspects to seek and find the woman whom Craig fucked — the core, surely, of all these accusations — and a reason why his name had a ‘p’ in it on one of the documents that matter; and what bearing Kathy Jackson’s recent mental illness has on her testimony. All this is better argued by Peter Wicks on http://www.independentaustralia.net/2012/politics/craig-thomson-under-the-rain whose examination of the evidence is Poirot standard and should be studied.

And, of course, why a man would book three fucks he didn’t turn up for, and pay for them nonetheless. He would be the first such man in human history. To miss one fuck might be accounted a misfortune. To miss three looks like carelessness.

There is in fact no other explanation for it than that he did not know the bookings had been made. That someone else had made them for him. And that if someone else did make them for him they may well, gosh all Friday, have been trying to frame him. Trying to set him up.

Or give him a birthday surprise, perhaps.

No, a set-up seems more likely. Or it does to me. With a faceless woman whose name will never be known.

It is hard to see Jackson or Abbott surviving these proceedings; or Pyne or Ashby the adjacent Slipper set-up. Or Brough. Sexual harassment by text-message of a thirty-four year old indeed. The mismanaged double-whammy-sex-scandal ploy with which the usual suspects tried with Murdoch’s help to blur and fog the best Budget since 1949 will kill a few careers, none of them Labor, and may in fact revive Thomson’s chances in Dobell as an Independent if The Daily Telegraph’s dismayed survey of local reactions, the female ones in particular, is any measure of how he will go.

But he may have been damaged irreparably, the mud sticking, as it did on Lindy and Cheryl and Red Ted Theodore, our great lost leader. Craig might else, had he been put on, have proved most royally. As Horatio said of Hamlet.

Go, bid the soldiers shoot.

What a pile of corpses have we here.

  1. After thinking about this matter for a number of days I have come to the conclusion that Labor shouldn’t get rid of Craig Thomson.

    They should promote him.

After all, he’s the only Labor bastard who can organize a root in a brothel.

  2. That’s not true Frank, the claim now is he called an escort service and that by innuendo alone the restaurant they were in is linked to an escort service but no evidence of any such thing has ever been offered.

    • Marilyn…er…the reason why they have exotic names such as ‘ABZ Catering’ is so that for certain ‘relevant others’ (even employers), reading accounts does not reveal expenditure on “Blondes Escort Services”. It doesnt mean they are being charged to a restaurant or for normal catering.

  3. Actually, Bob, he never would have “turned up.” His meetings were what is known in the trade as “outcalls” – the girls would have turned up to the hotel rooms where the calls came from.

Escort agencies are often linked to respectable businesses such as restaurants, so that patrons who aren’t carrying large amounts of cash on them can have their cards billed to somewhere discreet.
Your constant theme of “cherchez la femme” is negated by common sense.

The girls who serviced Craig Thomson probably don’t even remember seeing him, and they certainly wouldn’t come forward and get the treatment that Christine Keeler got – and is still getting 50 years later.

This defence of Craig Thomson is he most bizarre stunt the Left have tried to pull on Australia since the canonization of David Hicks.

    • So the girl came to Gosford, did she? From Sydney? Really?

What is David Hicks guilty of?

      Tell, tell.

      • David Hicks is guilty of abandoning the upbringing of his biological children in order to go on his little “adventure” which included the following charming activities:

On 11 November 1999, Hicks travelled to Pakistan to study Islam and began training with Lashkar-e-Taiba (the terrorist group behind the Mumbai attacks incidentally) in early 2000.In the U.S. Military Commission charges presented in 2004, the U.S. accused Hicks of training at the Mosqua Aqsa camp in Pakistan, after which he “travelled to a border region between Pakistan-controlled Kashmir and Indian-controlled Kashmir, where he engaged in hostile action against Indian forces.”

In a March 2000 letter to his family, Hicks wrote:

don’t ask what’s happened, I can’t be bothered explaining the outcome of these strange events has put me in Pakistan-Kashmir in a training camp. Three months training. After which it is my decision whether to cross the line of control into Indian occupied Kashmir.

In another letter on 10 August 2000, Hicks wrote from Kashmir claiming to have been a guest of Pakistan’s army for two weeks at the front in the “controlled war” with India:

I got to fire hundreds of bullets. Most Muslim countries impose hanging for civilians arming themselves for conflict. There are not many countries in the world where a tourist, according to his visa, can go to stay with the army and shoot across the border at its enemy, legally.

During this period, Hicks kept a notebook to document his training in weapon use, explosives, and military tactics, in which he wrote that guerilla warfare involved “sacrifice for Allah”. He took extensive notes on, and made sketches of, various weaponry mechanisms and attack strategies (including Heckler & Koch submachine guns, the M16 assault rifle, RPG-7 grenade launcher, anti-tank rockets, and VIP security infiltration).[31] Letters to his family detailed his training:

I learnt about weapons such as ballistic missiles, surface to surface and shoulder fired missiles, anti aircraft and anti-tank rockets, rapid fire heavy and light machine guns, pistols, AK47s, mines and explosives. After three months everybody leaves capable and war-ready being able to use all of these weapons capably and responsibly. I am now very well trained for jihad in weapons some serious like anti-aircraft missiles.

        • Sort of an Islamic George Orwell Different politics of course but saving that the same basic idea…..And as far as the politics go I would imagine, Simon, that you have more sympathy with Hicks’ politics than Orwell’s. Hicks was radicalised in Kosovo as I recall where the Islamic jihadis were the good guys according to those who take their politics from the sheets. Hicks’ crime was not to realise that Eurasia had suddenly become the enemy again…..

There is some strange relevance to Thomson, isn’t there. I was going to say that the comparison is irrelevant but I don’t know that it is entirely…..

          • And the girl came to Gosford, I take it.

            • Simon?

And Hicks should go back to gaol, I take it.

              • I think Hicks has probably learned his lesson, since the Child Support Agency have likely garnisheed his wages and publishing income – so overseas jaunts like his last one are probably not on the agenda for a few more years. I guess his quiet thoughts run along the lines of “WTF was I thinking???”, probaly exacerbated by being a cause célèbre and useful idiot for a while there.

  4. David Hicks is guilty of being a bloody idiot! He is not guilty of being the saint, martyr or regular Aussie bloke his cheer squad make him ut to be.

  5. Well, Tony Abbott displayed more concern for his putative son than David Hicks (whom you probably call “Hicksey”)did for the children he abandoned in Adelaide when he went adventuring.

    • Not when he ditched his pregnant girlfriend, took her baby from her and had it adopted. Abandoning thus what seemed at the time his only begotten son. And sent him to Western Australia.

Hicks’s children stayed with their mother. The cuckold Abbott’s did not.

Fair knight, you are losing this.

      • Was there ever a DNA test of Alexandra Long’s child reportedly fathered by you?

        • Yes there was. The timing of the pregnancy and birth made it impossible that she was was mine, but the DNA test acclaimed her so, as the paint-spray test a few years before showed Azaria’s foetal blood; falsely, as I now understand it.

The cuckold then went to work for Tony Abbott, another falsely accused bastardiser.

It seemed to me at the time suspicious, but I let it pass.

Now that he has helped ‘set up’ poor Craig in another sexual scandal, my doubts are returning.

          Like homing pigeons.

          I wonder.

          All those paternity payments …

          Oh dear.

  6. Of course it would be possible for the women to come forward and her identity publicly protected. This would take a little care but it is possible.

But here is possibility for Bob Ellis: the the women may exist, and remember, but do want to rat on a client, or a labour client, or bring down an ALP government. If you were the hypothetical whore, Bob, you would feel all three of these motives for silence, wouldn’t you.

    • There is a “not” missing above of course, “not want to rat on a client”.

Of course; another possibility is that such a woman does exist, and remember, and be talkative; and be likely to talk about quite a few politicians with credit cards including Liberals.

Any way you look at it “flourish the strumpets” is a good line to push…..

      • ‘Flourish the strumpets’ is very fine.

Like ‘the gods stand up for bastards’ by the alleged bastard De Vere.

        • Its fine and I wish it were mine, but it is not. See Ethel Turner’s “Roads to Ruin”. Worth repeating though.

“The gods stand up for bastards” isn’t De Vere’s either I reckon…..hope to get back to that.

          • See Shakespeare In Italy. It could be mine.

            • “Now, Gods, stand up for bastards” Edmund in Lear….

Yeah, hoping to get back to Shakespeare, and I’ll google “Shakespeare in Italy” because lamentably perhaps I don’t catch that reference.

Lear is full of good lines eh waht, and it occurs to me that Shakespearean style play about the Thomson affair would probably work (however it turns out)….imagine what Shakepeare could have done with or to Gillard or Abbott….

          • Maybe not, but De Vere was threatened with becoming a bastard, aged 13 when his (recently deceased) parents’ marriage was challenged as being illegal.

Not only would he have become a bastard, but he stood to lose his lands, his title and his income.

  7. Awesome. Thank you Bob.

  8. Another Lapsed Adventist

You are certainly correct about Ms Jackson being unlikely to survive. If I found out that any office holder within my union had links to the HR Nichols Society and had their snout in the trough to the extent that she has, I would be leading the lynch mob. (before anyone gets too carried away with my turn of phrase, I am figuratively speaking of course, I would calling for her resignation & fresh elections)
