An exchange that might work in Question Time today:
BACKBENCHER: Since Christopher Pyne is currently suspected of colluding in a conspiracy to overthrow the second highest official in the Commonwealth, can he be suspended from the service of the House for fourteen days, and then questioned?
ALBO: If Thomson can, he can. His offence comes under Treason, and he could be away longer.
Simon is banned for a month for having refused to say what Labor policies he disagreed with, and thus proved himself to be not a serious person and a malicious, gloating, lying propagandist.
No appeals.
Does anyone in the media bother to report that the money Thomson is accused of using was to set up a branch in Sydney?
No? Well according to FWA he is so clever he set up the branch without anyone knowing about it.
That is one of his so called crimes that he has not been charged with.
The media have lost the plot and are simply persecuting him to play dirty political games so that people will support that drongo Abbott.
If you watched the BBC series Empire you would know that the scholarship was granted in the name of a cretin to shut him up.
And his scholarship was for boxing.
Oh, dear.
Oh dear indeed.
Rhodes was no scholar.
Thanks for the potted bio.
Is one an idiot for wanting to be a boxer, is one an idiot for being a boxer, or does one become an idiot as a reult?
(Assuming that the person in question is not otherwise trapped in a ghetto, and uses boxing as a way out of poverty)
Hmmm? Answers in 25 words or less please.
Sporty and pushy appear to be useful characteristics for applicants for Rhodes Scholarships. Literary and scholastic attainments are only one of four standards by which they are judged. The others are energy to use one’s talents to the full, as exemplified by fondness for and success in sports; truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship; and moral force of character and instincts to lead, and to take an interest in one’s fellow beings.
The Rhodes Trust generally selects applicants of “outstanding intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service”.
Don’t make too much of the Oxford MA. It becomes available to an Oxford BA on application 21 terms (usually seven years) after entering the university. No further study or examination is required.
It’s interesting that Abbott graduated in politics and philosophy, rather than the interdisciplinary degree of philosophy, politics and economics. Did he gain firsts, seconds or thirds?
Now that babbling old fool
Barry Cassidy says that the parliament should strip Thomson of his vote because he and his moron political cronies made up a huge yarn about nothing much and won”t stop talking about it.

I am putting it here for reading. It’s amazing that Cassidy can make the claim that Thomson should be punished for nothing and laws should breach the constitution just so the press gallery will shut up about the story they invented.
So, does that make Abbott smart?
I know some exceedlingly stupid people who have law degrees.
So do I. And there are what I call ‘intelligent idiots’ in just about every imaginable field.
BANNED! YOUR CRIME: STATING FACTS
FROM ELLIS: No, that is a lie and your exile is now doubled.
You were banned for refusing to say what )abor policies you disagreed with.
This meant yoir hatred of Labor was irrational, or corrupt.
Well gee Tiny, so what?
I know Chrissy”s secrets, I just wonder why the meeja don’t report them.
I wonder if you realise that the 1100 pages are full of waffle.
Any accusation will do; ban Pyne from Parliament forthwith. Isn’t that the standard?
It is now.
The conspiracy against Slipper is not doubted by anyone, however.
Only the level of its criminality remains to be discovered.
I think most people with an IQ over 5 knew Slipper had been set up.
Too many of the same players as the Grech affair and the same level of stupidity.
Lewis should have discovered from a cabbie that passengers cannot rort cab vouchers because they have to go to the special minister of state for payment.
Allow me to repeat something from days ago re Thomson and his “charges”
In Chapter 6 of the Fair Work Report they have 3 paragraphs where they explain their reasoning.
In para 592 they say there was no formal policy on travel, rather an informal understanding that allowed his expenditure.
In para 598 they say there was no policy allowing him to do it.
In para 599 they say his terms of employment did not specifically allow him to do it.
So in 3 paras they say there was no policy anywhere saying he could or could not spend money.
Incredibly they go on to say he “therefore broke the rules”.I do not see the logic chain there. I understand people are upset and there is a moral or ethical question involved but the legal one is murky.
Also this started out being a criminal question leading to his expulsion from Parlt. and now it is degenerated into a question about breaching Sub rule 36-B and subsection 285(1) of the RAO schedule, whatever they are.
Well Bob Katter isn”t going for the lynching so the Rabbott is stymied again.
And Windsor is saying that the precedent they would set by banning Thomson would be far worse than any possible harm which could come from him staying.
A sound sensible fellow. I wonder how he ever joined the Nationals.
SIIIIiiiiiiiiiimooooooonnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am starting an Appeal to Save Simon. You will find it on the activist website RollOver.
