Boat People: The Final Solution (4): And So It Goes, And Went

I hereby release from their promise the few good people willing to put up money to fly the Falun Gung Ten to Auckland, now they’ve agreed to be imprisoned in Australia for a while. I underestimated Chris Bowen’s determination to stay enmired in this foul and shaming issue when there was a simple way out of it, to use New Zealand as our offshore processing centre, cleanse the region of the suppurating wound of the people smugglers, save a lot of money, outflank Abbott and win the election; like so many of the New South Wales Right he prefers to lose, and lose big, on a policy he doesn’t believe in.

It is to be wondered what he was afraid of. Have the Falun Gung, for whom Bob Hawke wept openly on the floor of Parliament after the murders in the Tien Min Square, any record of blowing up Australians? Burgling Australians? Kidnapping Australians and holding them to ransom? None at all. What then was the problem? It was much like like holding for questioning under suspicion of terrorism a Salvation Army brass band.

Why be the only country in the Western World that imprisons immigrant infants and their mothers, and with unending ‘detention’ drives young men to suicide? Why do this? Why do it?

Just asking.

  1. Because we have stuck ourselves in the mire of our own lunacy.

  2. If they have suitable identity papers and they check out as genuine refugees, then after health and security checks they should be released into the community within 2 months – and probably less.

    A win/win, I consider.

    • Will you get over this crap of identity papers, they are fucking irrelevant and always have been.

Most genuine refugees can’t carry papers because they face being forcibly deported.

      Get a grip.

Anyway Afghans don’t have papers, they are not even registered at birth because it is considered not worth much.

      • Fair enough, Marilyn.

If I was fleeing my homeland for dear life I probably wouldn’t have much paperwork either. Many countries will refuse to issue them, whilst other refugees would not want to seek papers from their oppressors.

But the fact is that it is much quicker to identify someone and establish where they are from and who they are actually fleeing if they have papers.

That is my point; some (morons?) may seek to insist on them for their own sake, which is as you say, irrelevant.

  3. It continues to happen because not enough oppose it, and not enough who oppose it do so loudly enough.

This is one of those simple and illuminating issues that has no basis in objective reality, but springs from the fear and hatred inside the heads of Australians.

It is an issue that defines what Australians are and what Australia is. The answer to both at this stage is: “shit”.

  4. For the same reason that you have a lock on your front door.

How many people are you happy to show up in your lounge room uninvited and demand lodging forever? Food? Dental and medical services? Welfare payments? All out of your own pocket?

Most people with brains are well and truly sick of these country shoppers flying in to Indonesia, paying $10,000 passage, “losing” their papers, and sucking off our welfare system for the rest of their
    Iives.

Labor broke it. 600 people have died since 2009 trying to get to the land of welfare. And who can blame them? We are a joke.

You want them, you raise the funds.

Real refugees are welcome, these blow-ins are taking their places.

    • God arseholes like you make me fucking sick. No-one is breaking in or invading your fucking pathetic little life.

And that 600 you quote is just a lie.

That is 600 in 13 years compared to 4,000 Australian’s drowned and 117 MILLION KIDS UNDER 5 who starved to death.

Cretins like you need to get out more.

  5. The Falun Gung people have their papers, and a good cause to flee for their lives from a tyranny.

    What are you talking about?

    • If you wish to play dumb, I speak of uninvited illegal arrivals in general.

      • Why are you talking about them? What is wrong with you? This is a specific instance, a just cause, and good people, and little people in mortal danger.

        What is wrong with you?

      • Simon, there is no such thing under Australian law as a fucking illegal arrival.

They are allowed to arrive by laws enshrined in the migration act and held as valid by the high court of this country.

        http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/apr/11/nato-migrants-left-to-die

This is what happens when we pretend to be humane and end up as sub-human.

And 105 of the drownings on the way here in the last 13 years were Hazara left to die by us. The officials here took 3.5 hours to decide on wording for a rescue.

And in the case of the shipwreck they go on about the navy could have saved everyone but they stayed in shelter guarding an empty fucking boat so it didn’t sink before the navy could sink it.

  6. I reposition this where it belongs :

Bob asks : “Why be the only country in the Western World that imprisons immigrant infants and their mothers, and with unending ‘detention’ drives young men to suicide? Why do this? Why do it?

    Just asking.”

Because we can, most likely. No other country in the western world has such defensible borders. We have no land borders at all, and access to any of our lands is only possible across vast oceans.

I suspect that most western countries (all of them?) envy us our ability to control our borders. They have all been forced to effectively give up on their own border security and allow ‘asylum seekers’ to enter more or less as they will.

If there had been hundreds of thousands of arrivals instead of a few hundred per month, the system would become unworkable and we too would quickly abandon it, no doubt amidst much rancour.

Now whether this is desirable or not is a different question; at least we have by default moved to onshore processing, which should be much quicker and less cumbersome.

Personally, I now favour allowing most of the arrivals into the community, after health checks. The real difficulty remains with those who are stateless, or whose countries do not want them back, in defiance of international law.

If they are not refugees under the definition in our Migration Act, we are unable to admit them.

Amend the law? Go for it. Tell us how.

  7. “drives young men to suicide?” – the poor dears… because the last bunch burned down the computer room?

    Don’t like it? Don’t come.

    • I hate you, Simon, and I’m too old to conceal it. Our country was built by country shoppers, my ancestors and yours. And you say country shopping is a bad thing. America was built by country shoppers. Israel.

      What an idiot you are.

      Hateful.

I think suicide is a tragedy, and you think it’s a joke.

      Hateful.

‘Poor dears’, you say. Much as you would say ‘poor dear’ to a soldier home from Afghanistan who suicides. If you can’t stand the stress, don’t go to war.

      Hateful.

      • I’m with you Bob.

I am also too old to pretend that I don’t hate Simon and the other fucking racist bogans who laugh about tragedy.

Make that collection and send this arsehole to Kandahar.

      • I’m still trying to educate them.

But most probably need an experience like the bogans in “Go Back to Where You Came From” to wise up.
